Tech N9ne & Eminem Collab

Born in the midwest and raised here, you will adapt to the culture and music movement. I'm so excited to see 2 KCMO natives collab together. Not many people know but Eminem is actually from St. Joe Missouri and later moved to KC when he was younger before moving to Detroit. Every time these two get on a track together, they surpass my expectations. If your a big hip hop fan like me ... then you'll be excited to here this!!!

On Monday Tech N9ne released a song off of his new album Special Effects called Speedom. When I first heard the song, I couldn't believe it. The track name doesn't even explain how good, lyrical and fast these guys rap on it. You will have to listen to it yourself!!

Madonna Get Tongue Tied

Madonna is back at it AGAIN. I guess she has a thing for making out with people on stage. First Britney then Christina and now Drake. Last Sunday (12th), Drake took the stage with Madonna at the Coachella music festival in California. Drake performed his song "Madonna", a track off his new mixtape "If You're Reading This It's Too Late," he invited Madonna onstage as a special guest to perform a few songs. After wrapping up "Human Nature" thats when Madonna decided to lay a wet one on him. In the video you can see Drake flailing his arms trying to make an escape away from her. 

Drake got a little more than what he bargained for. Obviously, by the look on his face ... he didn't look to thrilled. However, on Monday he let the world know how he really felt by posting a picture on Instagram saying, "  Don't misinterpret my shock!! I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever. Thank you @Madonna". I guess Drake does have a thing for older women ... but sheesh.

DMX Is A Religous Man Now!

Recently, DMX has hit the media waves. He was talking to a crowd of people saying, " God reveals so many things to me, but sometimes I don't want to see them". 

I guess he must mean about all his charges he has such as: resisting arrest, animal cruelty, reckless driving, unlicensed driving, drug possession and identity falsification. 

Or he could be serious. However, at one point in the video he gives out an "amen". DMX then proceeds to go on another sentimental rant about how God is the only one who can take a bad situation and have it become a good situation without even changing the situation. He also explains how he is wanting to become a minister.

I'm no better than the next man, and I hope DMX is serious about what he is talking about. But how he says it and the words he chooses is hilarious to me. However, it would be good to see DMX straighten up and better his life. It's hard to take DMX seriously anymore because, he ends up always going back to his old ways. I still have faith though!

To Pimp A Butterfly - KENDRICK LAMAR

On March 16th Kendrick Lamar released his 3rd studio album. The album is a follow - up to Lamar's platinum selling, Multi - Grammy Award nominated major - label debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.d City.

Ever since I listened to Good Kid M.A.A.D. City, I was sold and couldn't wait for Kendrick to release his next album. It is safe to say that it was definitely worth the three year wait. On this album Kendrick maintained his individualism, faultlessly blending genres such as funk, jazz and hip hop to create an album of the decade. This body of work is so artistic, intricate and sophisticated. It almost feels as if your watching a film as you listen to it. That is what music is really about, it is a body of art, not just a bunch of words and an instrumental thrown together.

When the singles "I" and "Blacker the Berry" were released, I didn't really take them as well as I did with the previous album. But once I listened to them with the context of the album my opinion changed. The music reveals so much and has layered meaning behind each record.

If you haven't heard this album yet, I suggest you take a listen ... whether you are a fan or not. This album will be marked down in the history books!!

Lil Wayne V.S. Kevin Hart

Who doesn't love a little friendly competition? Recently, rapper Lil Wayne and comedian mogul Kevin Hart decided to see who could spit the best bars. Although this rap battle did not actually happen, its HILARIOUS how they edited the two cyphers together!! Grab your popcorn and tissues because you will be crying from laughter by the time this video is over! Enjoy!

Suge Knight A Murderer?

 

Suge Knight could be facing prison time! Suge was involved in a hit and run in January killing a man. Details are still being resolved and the trial is on going. Suge's defensive reasoning is he has glaucoma and is blind in one of his eyes. Because of his disability he was unable to see Terry Carter the man whom was killed. TMZ recently released surveillance video of the incident. What do you think? You think it was an accident or on purpose?

Roasting The Biebs

If your a fan ... or not a fan of Justin Bieber you should mark you calendars for March 30th. Comedy Central is hosting the Roast of Justin Bieber. Hosted by the roast master himself Kevin Hart. Other JB roasters include Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Shaquille O' Neal, Hannibal Buress, Chris D'Elia, Natasha Leggero, Jeffrey Ross, Seth Rogan and Martha Stewart. YES MARTHA STEWART!!  Justin Bieber has been asking them for years for this opportunity. Final Comedy Central has agreed since Justin now has ALOT of material to use against him. From throwing eggs, baby mama drama, heartbreak, arrests, etc ... There is no doubt in my mind this will be the biggest roast ever!

Setting Records On The Billboard Charts

If you haven't heard now, you about to!!! All 17 songs off of Drakes new album, "If You're Reading This Its Too Late", are on the Billboard chart. Half of the Billboard's Hot R&B/HipHop Song chart is filled with tracks Drake has either featured on or belong to his new surprising album. 

According to Billboard, Drake is responsible for 42% of the 50 position chart. He has 21 concurrent songs on the list. This sets a new record for the most concurrently charting hits. Drake has even surpassed is own previous record of 14 tracks on the Billboard chart, which he set in 2013 with the release of Nothing Was The Same album. All 17 songs are on the charts, mainly because of Drake's online success of downloads and streaming. For the second week in a row, "If You're Reading This Its Too Late" has been the #1 album on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Charts. 

The track Energy is the highest ranking song off the album charting at #9. Drake also has two Top 5 collabs with his label mate Nicki Minaj with "Only" and "Truffle Butter" coming in at #4 and #5. 

I'am a HUGE drake fan. I have been a fan since I was young. Seeing him evolve to the artist he is today is amazing. Can't wait to see him win another Grammy!!

Tyga says, ''People Just Want to Make a Story''

Lately, ex YMCM member Tyga has been in the tabloids like crazy. From the beef with Drake and Nicki Minaji, to leaving Young Money, now with rumors going around he is dating the younger sister of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner. However, Tyga has taken some time out of his busy schedule from touring with Chris Brown and Trey Songz on the Between The Sheets tour and promoting his new two albums Fan of a Fan 2 and The Gold Album to clear these rumors up. 

During a Vibe interview Tyga explains his situation with Drake and Nicki saying, " I don't like Drake as a person. He's just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I'm saying? I think his music is good but we're all different people". He also goes on to say he doesn't get along with Nicki as well. 

During his 105 Breakfast Club interview he further goes into detail about the feud between him, Nicki, and Drake. Stating, "It's not really a beef. It's just experiences that I've had with him, phone calls and stuff. I feel like he's a nice guy on the outside, but, he's not genuine. He plays people left and right. That's just my opinion and I'm entitled to have my own opinion."  In regards to Nicki, he states, At the end of the day, what I said in the interview was how I felt at that moment."

Tyga also explains, "I'm not dating Kylie, I just want to get that out of the way, I want to be clear to everybody that I didn't leave my family to be with Kylie. That's ridiculous. Me and Blac Chyna, we broke up almost close to a year ago now, because of the decision we made, and things in our relationship that weren't going right, so we decided to split to raise an emotionally stable kid".
